Yvonne Bessner was born May 26, 1925 in Anacortes, Washington. She was the daughter of Anna Marie Schwarz and William Bessner. Her sister was Annette Bessner.

She was in the 5th grade at Whitney Elementary School when she developed a severe cold and later pneumonia. She succumbed to her illness just over a week after she fell ill.

Yvonne passed away on March 4, 1936, just a couple months shy of her 11th birthday. She is interred at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes, Washington.
