Carl Edward Frantz was born February 24, 1929, in Ballard, Washington. He was the only son of Matilda Frederickson and Edward Frantz.

In 1939, his family moved to Anacortes where he finished his schooling and graduated from Anacortes High School in 1947. Soon after high school he moved to Albany, Oregon to work in a plywood mill. Not long after he meet his future wife.

Annalee Nathalie Strantt and Carl married on November 11, 1950. They had three children: Carol Frantz, Karl Frantz, and Edward Frantz.

Throughout his life he held many different jobs, some of which included plywood worker, car salesman, refinery worker, laundry driver, logger, and feed store owner. In 1963, he moved his family back to Anacortes to take over his father’s original stockholder shares in Anacortes Veneer Inc.

Carl was a life member of the Elks Lodge, actively involved with the Anacortes Sea Scouts, and a member of the Anacortes Lutheran Church, Vasa Lodge, and Sons of Norway.

Carl passed away on February 1, 2019 and is interred at Grand View Cemetery in Anacortes, Washington.
