Andrew Herman Horsey was born January 27, 1879, in Beaverton, Oregon. He was the son of Sarah Singer and Pleasant W. Horsey.

His family came to Seattle by way of a covered wagon and later to Skagit County on a sidewheel steamboat named George E. Star. He lived in LaConner until 1890 and then moved to a farm in Avon.

On March 21, 1901, he married Ida Leona Wiles and had a son, Raymond Horsey.

Mr. Horsey had a long career in Skagit County, he served as chief of Police at Anacortes, spent 21 years as field manager for Broder and McMillan Canning Co., and was superintendent of a road crew of 105 convicts sent to open the Chuckanut Road.

Andrew passed away on February 28, 1969 and is interred at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Washington.
