Fred Cartwright, Peoples Bank Manager, 1955.
Fred G. Cartwright was born February 27, 1910, in Anacortes, WA. He was the child of Frederick Daniel Cartwright and Bessie G. Graham; and he had one sister, Ethel Reshatoff, and one brother, William Cartwright.
He graduated from Anacortes High School in 1927. He attended Whitman College and was Vice-President and manager of People National Bank from 1936-1970.
He was in Demolay and was active in scouting his whole life, earning the rank of Eagle Scout and serving as a scoutmaster. Extremely active in the community, he was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Masons and Rotary, and served as a City Councilman and as president of the Anacortes School Board. He was presdient of the Navy League and president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Cartwright married Dorothy Glaske on April 9, 1933 and they had two children: David Graham Cartwright and Patricia Cartwright Graves.
He died October 4, 1980 in Anacortes.
